Candidates finalized for Weirton election

WEIRTON -- The candidates have been finalized for Weirton’s municipal election.

Weirton’s primary election will be held April 2, with the general election set for June 11.

According to information provided by City Clerk DeeAnn Pulliam, one candidate opted to withdraw from the Ward 6 council race, leaving that race uncontested.

The following are the official candidates set to appear on the ballot:

• Mayor: Harold “Bubba” Miller and George Village

• Ward 1: Jonathan Curenton, Tim Connell and George G. Brandenburg

• Ward 2: Mike Adams and Ralph Cunningham

• Ward 3: Fred S. Marsh

• Ward 4: George E. Ash Sr.

• Ward 5: Jesse G. Lamone, George J. Charnie Jr., Flora M. Perrone, Jonathan Reitter and Richard K. Ford

• Ward 6: Enzo Fracasso

• Ward 7: Terry Weigel and Shanon Schuetzner

The ballot drawing will be held at 9 a.m., Feb. 19 in Room 201 of the Weirton City Building.
