WEIRTON -- Registration continues for the annual Marland Heights 5K Classic Run, Fitness walk, and Youth Fun Run, set for Friday at Marland Heights Park.
The evening will include a 3.1-mile run, a 2-mile fitness walk, and a youth fun run for kids 12 and under. The youth fun run will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the main race beginning at 7 p.m., with the start and finish lines at the park.
It will conclude with a cookout and awards ceremony, followed by a "Movies in the Park" event featuring the movie "McFarland USA."
Registration is $20 for adults, $15 for teens, and $2 for the youth fun run.
Those wishing to pre-register can do so at the Weirton Millsop Community Center through Thursday. Race day registration will begin at 6 p.m. at the park.
Water will be provided at the start/finish line as well as along the visibly marked race course.
Race timing will be provided by Second Sole out of Youngstown, Ohio.
