On the court

Weirton Madonna High School is celebrating homecoming this week, culminating with the crowning of this year’s queen Friday, during halftime festivities of Madonna’s game against Mathews at Jimmy Carey Stadium. This year’s court includes, from left, Addie Backel, Kelsey Crawford, Lexus Melnyk, Carly Dowiak and Ava Loch. The queen will be named through the selection of a red rose. Events also will include a parade, set for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., with a pep rally to follow at the high school and the crowning of this year’s homecoming king. The dance will be held Saturday. — Craig Howell
