Annual United Way Turkey Trot set for Saturday

WEIRTON — There’s still time to get your drumsticks in racing shape.

The Weirton United Way’s second-annual Turkey Trot will be held Saturday at Marland Heights Park. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a 10 a.m. race time.

The fundraiser event will feature a 5K run and walk, a 1-mile kids fun run and a toddler dash.

Activities will include free refreshments for participants, the Hancock County Schools Storybook Cafe, a costume contest to be judged by Mayor Harold Miller and a food drive to benefit the Salvation Army and the Community Bread Basket.

Those bringing a donation of a non-perishable food item will be entered for a chance to receive a $100 gift card.

Registration forms are available at the United Way office, at 3970 Main St., Weirton.
