Edison High to stage ‘Tarzan’ on Nov. 22-23

RICHMOND -- The King of the Jungle will swing into action at Edison High School when "Tarzan" hits the stage.
The school's vocal music department will stage two performances of the musical in the auditorium on Nov. 22-23 under the direction of Dani Carroll. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts 7:30 p.m., while tickets cost $5 for students and $8 for adults.
Based on the 1999 animated Disney film and adapted from the story "Tarzan of the Apes" by Edgar Rice Burroughs, it tells the tale of Tarzan, a man raised in the wild by gorillas who meets and falls in love with Jane, a young English naturalist. Jane's entourage plans to kill the gorillas and Tarzan's loyalties are soon tested. The cast includes Troy Hackathorn as Tarzan, Gracie Phillips as Jane, Melodey Clancey as Kala, Shane Smith as Porter, Zachary Fluharty as Clayton, J.T. Pipo as Kerchak, Travis Rose as Snipes, Emma Scott as Terk and Chesney Swickard as a gorilla.
