CHARLESTON -- The filing period for the 2020 election cycle will be held from Jan. 13 until Jan. 25, according to the West Virginia Secretary of State's Office.
Candidates will be able to file their Certificate of Announcement in person at the Secretary of State's Office in Charleston, as well as their business hub offices in Clarksburg and Martinsburg.
Those wishing to mail their certificates may do so, as long as they are postmarked no later than Jan. 25.
Those seeking office for president, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, governor, secretary of state, attorney general, state auditor, state treasurer, commissioner of agriculture, state Supreme Court of Appeals, state Senate, state House of Delegates and circuit court must file through the Secretary of State's Office.
All other elected offices are to file with their county clerks offices.
