A day to enjoy

The fifth-annual Hank Kuzma Community Day will be held today at the Franciscan University of Steubenville. Presented by the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce and the university, the event offers chamber members and their guests along with members of the university family to watch the school’s basketball teams take on the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. The men’s game is at 2 p.m. and the women’s game is at 4 p.m. It’s a day of competition and community to remember the late Kuzma — who was an important and part of the university and chamber families for many years — and showcase the university’s sports program. Tickets are complimentary, courtesy of the university’s athletic department and event sponsors. From left, Nancy Felton of the Carriage Inn of Steubenville and Chris Orris of Valley Hospice present Pete Rosaschi, the university’s assistant athletic director, with a sponsorship check, while Tricia Maple-Damewood, president of the chamber of commerce, and Mike Florak, the university’s executive director of community relations, look on. Trinity Health System and Encino Energy also are sponsors. — Contributed
