NEW CUMBERLAND -- The suspect in a series of shooting incidents in the New Manchester area from August is among the 23 individuals indicted as part of the January term of the Hancock County grand jury.
County Prosecuting Attorney James W. Davis Jr. released the list of indictments Wednesday, following two days of hearings before the grand jury.
Among those indicted is Michael A. McClanahan Sr., who was arrested following an Aug. 14 shooting incident in the county.
McClanahan, of 89 Judge Drive, New Cumberland, was indicted on four counts of wanton endangerment involving a firearm; three counts of attempted murder; malicious assault; two counts of attempted malicious assault; robbery in the first degree; kidnapping; fleeing officer in vehicle; fleeing officer while DUI; and DUI third or subsequent offense.
According to reports at the time, Hancock County 911 received a call the night of Aug. 14 that a female had been shot at a residence on Judge Drive. Deputies located the body of Sandra Brown at the residence, along with an injured Travis Choina.
Shortly after, a second call reported an active shooter on Clearview Street, where an individual reportedly drove through a yard and shot into a residence multiple times.
Three individuals were injured as a result.
Following another incident at Carriage Court, a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle traveling north on Route 8, which then turned onto Locust Hill Road and struck a residence. McClanahan was shot by a deputy during the arrest.
Others indicted by the grand jury were:
¯ Richard Pope, 71, 930 Grant St., Newell, sexual assault first degree; sexual abuse first degree; three counts sexual assault third degree; four counts sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person in position of trust to a child.
¯ Ariel B. Stanley, 27, 2935 Kings Creek Road, Weirton, seven counts child abuse resulting in bodily injury, one count child neglect resulting in risk of death or serious bodily injury.
¯ William D. "Donny" Barrett Jr., 39, 750 East Fifth St., Salem, bringing stolen property into the state; conspiracy.
¯ Kevin L. Fields, 51, 1420 Mountaineer Circle, New Cumberland, three counts forgery and uttering.
¯ William D. Jacquet, 26, 528 Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, bringing stolen property into the state, conspiracy.
¯ Richard Carl Jenkins Jr., 43, 3507 Zeta St., Weirton, strangulation, domestic battery.
¯ Shaka S. Jeter, 31, 623 Cove Road, Weirton, strangulation.
¯ Brandon E. Mayhew, 32, 1406 County Road, Weirton, shoplifting third offense.
¯ Christopher C. Nixon, 40, no fixed address, delivery of a controlled substance.
¯ Brady N. Pinkerton, 34, 315 Harker Ave., Newell, bringing stolen property into the state, conspiracy.
¯ Daniel M. Roscoe, 26, 601 Two Ridge Road, Apt. 7, Wintersville, delivery of a controlled substance, transporting a controlled substance into the state.
¯ Christopher Pickering, 33, 920 South Chestnut St., New Cumberland, domestic battery third offense.
¯ Jason M. Sandy, 38, 1385 Hardins Run Road, New Cumberland, domestic battery third offense.
¯ Justin D. Johnson, 37, 661 Brickyard Bend, New Cumberland, strangulation, domestic battery.
¯ William Kernen, 74, 720 3rd Ave., Apt. 11, New Cumberland, sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person in position of trust to a child.
¯ Kristina Mattern, also known as Kristina Mouse, 36, 430 Jefferson St., Newell, counterfeiting and procuring electricity by devise with intent to fraud.
¯ Raymond D. Stocke Jr., 44, 87 National Road, Wheeling, two counts fraudulent use of an access device.
¯ James P. Wilson, 53, 1437 Rolling Acres, New Cumberland, sexual assault in the first degree, two counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person in position of trust to a child, sexual abuse in the first degree.
¯ Robert Boyer, 43, 163 McCracken Hill Road, Burgettstown, DUI third, driving while revoked third.
¯ James Tinsely, 39, currently in the Northern Regional Jail, failure to appear.
¯ Ty Mogyoros, 39, 2570 Kings Creek Road, Weirton, driving while suspended/DUI third, fleeting DUI, reckless fleeing DUI, grand larceny.
¯ Robert L. Baxter, 39, 27 Zeus Drive, Chester, failure to register as a sex offender.
