Detectives seize 1.53 pounds of marijuana at Titus Street home

WEIRTON -- A Weirton resident is facing charges after a search of his residence uncovered a large amount of marijuana and evidence of a distribution operation.

Stephen Robert Boyer, 27, of 550 Titus St., was arrested by Weirton police Wednesday on charges of possession with the intent to distribute.

According to information provided Thursday, the Weirton Police Department's Street Crimes Unit received information indicating Boyer had been distributing marijuana from his residence.

Upon obtaining a warrant, detectives performed a search of the Titus Street house, locating Boyer in the basement.

Detectives also located approximately 694 grams, or 1.53 pounds, of marijuana, with an estimated value of $6,940, as well as items officials say are indicative of the distribution of illegal controlled substances and a .22-caliber handgun.

Boyer is being held in West Virginia Northern Regional Jail, in Moundsville, on a $10,000 bond.
