Weirton Council continues to adjust in midst of pandemic

By From staff reports 1 min read

WEIRTON -- Weirton Council still plans to meet for its next regular meeting, April 13, but will continue to make adjustments as part of the city’s efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

In March, the city announced it would begin to livestream council meetings on the City of Weirton’s Facebook page. That process will continue when council convenes at 7 p.m., April 13.

The meeting will be open to the public; however, in an effort to adhere to social distancing guidelines, only 10 residents will be permitted into the Weirton Municipal Building to attend the meeting in person.

Weirton residents wishing to express their thoughts, comments or questions to council will still be able to do so, by submitting them in writing no later than April 10.

Submissions may be sent to City Clerk Kimberly Long, either by email at cityclerk@cityofweirton.com, or via U.S. Postal Service at 200 Municipal Plaza, Weirton, WV 26062.

Comments will be accepted only from Weirton residents, and must include the individual’s name, address and the topic of discussion.
