PITTSBURGH -- Mamma mia! Mamma mia! Carnegie Science Center's Buhl Planetarium will rock you this summer. Laser Queen -- a heart-thumping, hand-clapping affirmation that though Freddie Mercury is gone, the Queen saga lives on -- is now showing Fridays and Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. through Aug. 22. Groove to a playlist packed with Queen's fan-favorite anthems, including "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," "Under Pressure," "Another One Bites the Dust" and of course "Bohemian Rhapsody."
During the week, you can take a musical journey of laser light in Laser Galactic Odyssey, showing Sunday through Thursday at 2:30 pm through Aug. 23. Blast off to your favorite interstellar tunes as we fly through space at the speed of light. A vibrant mix of genres and music from different decades, it's perfect for all ages.
Laser show tickets cost $2 for Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh members, and $8 for nonmembers or $5 when added onto general admission. Tickets are available at the science center's admissions desk.
With limited seating capacity and safety protocols in place, Buhl Planetarium laser shows are a great option for fun, safe activities to do in Pittsburgh. Families can make a day of it with four floors of more than 200 science and technology exhibits at the science center. Timed tickets for general admission are available for purchase online.
