With the help of Chief Sheriff's Deputy Scott Adams, Brooke County Sheriff Rich Beatty, on Thursday, recognized a deputy whose actions saved a local resident and four others who were recently promoted. Participating were, from left, Deputy Kaylin Ferguson, Cpl. Shane Logston, Beatty, Capt. Scott Ziegler, Lt. Kyler Ferguson, Sgt. Kristen Richmond and Adams. Kaylin Ferguson was presented the sheriff's department's Life Saver award for preventing a woman from bleeding to death by applying a tourniquet to her arm after she cut her wrist. — Warren Scott
