Veteran banners to be presented
WELLSBURG -- Members of the Hometown Heroes group will be presenting banners honoring local veterans to be displayed along Wellsburg streets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Wellsburg Banquet Hall on 12th Street.
The occasion allows families and others sponsoring the banners as well as the veterans themselves to see them up close.
The volunteer group, which is affiliated with the Brooke County Veterans Memorial Park Foundation, also will make a presentation to the family of Paul "Bud" Billiard, who suggested the banners prior to his death.
