WEIRTON -- The Weirton man arrested in connection with the stabbing death of his father has been charged with first-degree murder.
The charge against Justin Michael Kittle, 21, of 1238 Glencairn Road, has been filed through Brooke County Magistrate Court, where a preliminary hearing is pending.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Weirton Police, 54-year-old Jeffrey Kittle was found lying in his backyard with cuts to his back, head and leg on May 19.
Police said despite efforts by first responders to provide medical aid to the elder Kittle, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the stabbing followed a dispute between the father and son over Justin taking his medication.
According to the police reports, Justin stabbed his father first with one knife inside the home and with another knife outside.
The complaint states, “Justin states he then accidentally stabbed his mother. Justin stated after he stabbed his mother, he dropped the knife, went back in the house and got a Mountain Dew and a cigarette. Justin stated he then went back outside to help his mother render aid to his father.”
