NEW CUMBERLAND -- Two individuals are facing drug-related charges following an investigation into the trafficking of heroin, fentanyl and crack-cocaine in northern Hancock County.
According to a release by the Hancock County Sheriff's Department, Bryce Andrew Minto, 26, of Newell and Richard Alexander Brown, 33, of Cleveland were arrested Wednesday as a result of an investigation by the Hancock-Brooke-Weirton Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force.
As part of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at 316 Coolidge St. in Newell, during which time heroin and fentanyl were located, along with what officials described as "a large amount of U.S. Currency."
Both Minto and Brown face charges of distribution of heroin, fentanyl and crack-cocaine and possession with intent to deliver heroin, fentanyl and crack-cocaine.
In addition to these charges, the sheriff's department notes Brown is a fugitive from justice, wanted in Ohio on charges of murder, felonious assault, aggravated rape and multiple aggravated robberies.
Both Minto and Brown currently are being held in the West Virginia Northern Regional Jail. Brown has a $60,000 bond on the drug charges. A bond had not been set for Minto as of Thursday afternoon.
