Hancock County grand jury indicts 16
NEW CUMBERLAND — A grand jury convened in Hancock County this week returned indictments against 16 individuals, according to information released by county Prosecuting Attorney Steven E. Dragisich Wednesday afternoon.
Among those indicted was Corey Mitchem, 38, of 383 Brestle Lane, Weirton. Mitchem is facing several charges, including eight counts of sexual abuse by a custodian; six counts of sexual abuse in the first degree; two counts of sexual assault in the second degree; two counts of sexual assault in the third degree; one count of fleeing from a law enforcement officer with reckless indifference; one count of fleeing a law enforcement officer while under the influence of alcohol; and one count of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Other indictments issued by the grand jury this week included:

Gary Behanna, 35, 217 Grant St., Newell, burglary, entry of a dwelling, conspiracy
Cheryl Behanna, 31, 217 Grant St., Newell, conspiracy
Steven Midcap, 28, 1011 Carson Road, New Cumberland, malicious assault; leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury
Helen Smith, 20, 1396 Euclid Ave., Steubenville, fraudulent schemes
Charles Baker, 53, 100 Jordan St., Weirton, possession of a stolen vehicle; malicious assault; possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to deliver, methamphetamine
Zachary Mumford, 36, 676 Flats Cemetery Road, New Cumberland, fleeing in a vehicle from a law enforcement officer with reckless indifference; grand larceny; conspiracy
Carissa Lane-Farmer, 26, 3108 Broad St., Parkersburg, grand larceny; conspiracy
