CHARLESTON – Even Jenkins has announced his resignation from the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, to be effective Sunday.
Jenkins delivered his letter of resignation to Gov. Jim Justice in person Friday morning, according to a press release from the court.
"I came to the Supreme Court with a promise to restore the public's trust and confidence
in the Court. Working with my colleagues, we have made much progress," Jenkins said. "The time is right for me to return to working on projects and progress for a better West Virginia. I want to express my appreciation to my fellow justices for their leadership and dedicated public service. I have enjoyed working with them all."
A former state legislator, Jenkins was appointed to the Supreme Court by Justice on Aug. 25, 2018 and elected to a full term Nov. 6, 2018. Jenkins term was scheduled to end Dec. 31, 2024.
