WEIRTON – Greenbrier Road has been reopened to traffic, according to an announcement from the City of Weirton this afternoon.

The road, which provides a connection between Cove Road and Pennsylvania Avenue, had been closed to traffic in May following a series of landslides.

Motorists had been prohibited from driving on a section of the road, between Campbell Lane and Sandy Lane, for the past month.

In its announcement, the city offered its appreciation to area residents for their patience and cooperation while the road was closed.
