Weirton Greek Festival is quickly approaching

WEIRTON – There’s still time to place an order for some of your favorite food selections as part of the 35th Weirton Greek Festival.

The festival will be held 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, and those wishing to pre-order their meals may do so until noon Wednesday.

Pre-order options include Greek chicken dinner, Fish Plaki dinner, grape leaves, Greek style green beans, pastichio, rice pilaf, spanakopita, super gyro, apethakia (pear-shaped cookies), baklava, koulourakia (twist cookies) and kouramiethes (butter cookies).

Orders may be placed either online at www.allstswwv.org, or by phone at (304) 797-9884 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays.

Some food items – grape leaves, super gyros, baklava, loukoumathes (Greek doughnuts), flavored iced coffee and other beverages – will be available for purchase the day of the festival at the food and pastry walk-up booth.

Musical entertainment will be available, with a disc jockey playing from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and The Grecian Keys taking the stage from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Seating will be available only under the outdoor tent.

This year’s festival chairs are Angela Kohelis, Stephanie Kamarados and Eugenia Makricostas.
