Representatives of Weirton's Church Women United met at the Mary H. Weir Public Library Thursday morning to receive a proclamation from Mayor Harold "Bubba" Miller in recognition of their annual fundraising efforts for UNICEF. UNICEF, formally known as the United Nations Children's Fund, is an agency of the United Nations responsible for providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide. This year, Church Women United will be collecting through Oct. 30 as part of the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign.
