Airport board to meet
WINTERSVILLE -- The board of trustees of the Jefferson County Regional Airport Authority will meet in regular session at 3 p.m. Monday in the public conference room in the Terminal Building at the Jefferson County Airpark, 600 Airpark Drive, Wintersville.
Election board to meet
STEUBENVILLE -- The Jefferson County Board of Elections will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
The meeting will be in the board's office, 500 Market St., Steubenville.
Committees to meet Tuesday
TORONTO -- Toronto Council's communication, buildings and grounds committee and the Toronto Recreation Board will hold a joint meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Karaffa Recreation Center.
SVRTA sets holiday schedule
STEUBENVILLE -- Steel Valley Regional Transit Authority will be running its holiday schedule Friday and will return to regular schedule on Saturday.
Solid waste board to meet
ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- The Jefferson-Belmont Regional Solid Waste Authority Board will hold its Regular monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Belmont JBGT building, 67895 Pickering Road, St. Clairsville.
The grant committee will meet 4:30 p.m. regarding the 2023 Recycling Initiatives Competitive Funding Project Grant applications.
Water line replacement scheduled
WEIRTON -- Crews from the Weirton Area Water Board are scheduled to begin the replacement of a main water line on Xanthia Way beginning Monday.
The project, weather permitting, is expected to last through April 28, with crews operating from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Residents are requested to refrain from parking on the street during work hours, with road closures also possible.
The area will experience temporary water outages during the project, with water discoloration also possible.
Energy Express seeking mentors
NEW CUMBERLAND -- Energy Express is in the process of hiring AmeriCorps members to serve as mentors and community coordinators for its summer session in Hancock County.
Energy Express is an eight-week program promoting school success through reading, and will be held June 7 to July 28 at Weirton Elementary School. AmeriCorps members wishing to serve as mentors must be either a college-bound high school senior, a current college student or recent college graduate with no full-time employment. Community coordinators do not have to be a college student. Those hired will receive a $2,350 living allowance, a $1,374.60 educational stipend and 300 service hours.

Traffic restrictions set for trimming
WEIRTON -- The West Virginia Division of Highways will institute traffic restrictions on three area roads, beginning next week, to allow for tree trimming.
Pennsylvania Avenue, Cove Road and Culler Road in Weirton will be reduced to one lane from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning Monday through April 20. Flaggers will maintain traffic patterns during this time. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays.
The schedule could be altered as a result of weather or other circumstances.
