Special council meetings called
FOLLANSBEE -- City Council will hold three special meetings beginning at 6 p.m. today.
The first is the state-required meeting to lay the levy rate for the 2023-24 fiscal year and will be followed at 6:10 p.m. by another to certify ballots from the recent primary election.
It will be followed at about 6:20 p.m. by a meeting of council's newly formed park planning committee.
Commission meeting canceled
WEIRTON -- The regular meeting of the Weirton Traffic Commission, which had been scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, has been canceled.
The commission will next meet at 10 a.m., May 18.
Hydrant tests to be held in Weirton
WEIRTON -- The Weirton Area Water Board has scheduled hydrant flow tests along Three Springs Drive, beginning at 8 a.m., Wednesday.
Customers in the area may experience discolored water or low pressure during this time, although officials note a boil order will not be issued following the tests.
