Music and Art returning to Oak Glen April 15

NEW MANCHESTER -- A celebration of music, the arts and cultural heritage is returning to Oak Glen High School.

Music and Art at Oak Glen will take place on April 15 at the high school, beginning at 10 a.m.

The event will showcase live musical performance on separate stages throughout the day, as well as a commons area hosting an array of visual arts, authors, crafters and vendors. There is no cost to attend.

Headline performances on the Little Theatre Main Stage will feature the jazz/funk/eclectic sounds of The Labra Brothers, blues guitar phenom Pierce Dipner and his Band, and the acoustic folk/Americana musings of The Conkle Brothers.

There will also be three tribute performances by local artists Brad Gibson and Bill Crawford, Doug Smith, and Patty Burgess in memory of long-time Tri-State Area arts contributors John Edwards, Bob Walker, and Kelsey Hayward.

In addition, the Blind Colours Band, comprised of students at Lincoln Park Charter School, will be performing, as well at the Oak Glen Recorder Ensemble, the Beaver Local Jazz Ensemble, the Oak Glen Little Theatre cast of "The Addams Family," and the Oak Glen Middle School Chorus.

Other Ohio Valley students scheduled to perform, to date, include Ella Paras, Asa Brewer, Layne Smith, Josie Smith, Connor Wade, Madelynn McKinney, and Anneliese Schupbach.
