Pupils participating in the Advancement Via Individual Determination program at Oak Glen Middle School recently visited West Virginia University. AVID is designed to close opportunity gaps in education and prepare students for college or careers through daily tutoring, organizational assistance and practicing test-taking strategies. Oak Glen Middle is the first school in Hancock County to offer the AVID program, available to those in sixth through eighth grades.
