Members of the Weirton Police Department offer a salute as part of a service held Monday morning in observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day and National Police Week. The service, organized by the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 84, was held in front of the Weirton Municipal Building, and included a proclamation offered by Mayor Harold Miller and Assistant City Manager DeeAnn Pulliam and a presentation of a wreath at the FOP 84 memorial. The national anthem was performed by Weir High student Brayley Lash, with a salute to the dead by the FOP Honor Guard and bagpipes played by Weirton firefighter Matt Corcoran. – Craig Howell
