Bigfoot Day to take over Tomlinson Run State Park

NEW MANCHESTER -- Tomlinson Run State Park will be the place for all things "squatchy" this weekend, with the second-annual Bigfoot Day event.

Activities are set for Friday and Saturday at the park's campground group shelter, with a town hall scheduled for 6-8 p.m., Friday, and a full slate of guest speakers from 1-5 p.m. Saturday. The event is sponsored by the West Virginia Center for Unexplained Events and the Center for Cryptozoological Studies.

Longtime researchers Fred Saluga and Brian Seech will offer a presentation from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday on "Bigfoot and Stranger Creatures in West Virginia."

It will be followed by Dave and Carey Rupert, from 2:20 p.m. to 3:20 p.m., who will discuss "Bigfoot in Pennsylvania," and then Rod and Annette Fee will discuss "Paranormal Investigations" from 3:40 p.m. to 4:40 p.m.

Area residents are invited to stop by and learn about the legend and lore of Bigfoot and other paranormal phenomena in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. There is no admission cost and it is open to the public.
