Approximately 850 pupils were welcomed to the halls of Weirton Elementary School Wednesday, as Hancock County Schools kicked off its 2023-24 instructional year. School is in session for districts throughout the Tri-State Area, with Brooke County Schools beginning its year last week, and Weirton's Catholic Schools greeting students on Monday. — Craig Howell
