Hancock Schools name Smith assistant superintendent
Arneault selected as Weir High principal
NEW CUMBERLAND – Additional leadership changes were among personnel decisions made Tuesday during a special meeting of the Hancock County Board of Education, including the naming of a new assistant superintendent and a new principal at Weir High School.
The agenda for Tuesday’s meeting, held at the John D. Rockefeller IV Career Center, featured a series of resignations, transfers and hirings as part of preparations for the upcoming school year.
Among those was the approval of Enich’s recommendations of Dave Smith as the county’s new assistant superintendent of schools and Ted Arneault as the new head principal of Weir High School.
“These are transfers,” explained Superintendent Dan Enich.
Smith will be moving to the central office from his current position as head principal at Oak Glen High School, while Arneault will shift from an assistant principal post at Weirton Elementary to the high school.
