The Weirton Police Department welcomed four probationary officers to its ranks Friday morning, swearing in Brendon Schrader, Jaden Tate, Eric Higgs and Justin Brueck. According to Police Chief Charlie Kush, the additions bring the department to 41 sworn officers. It also continues a tradition of public service for two families. Schrader's father and brother also are members of the city's police department, while Brueck's father and brother serve in the Weirton Fire Department.
