The Weirton Fire Department, Friday morning, unveiled several new pieces of rescue equipment, valued at $88,876. Unlike previous equipment, which was operated through pneumatic systems, the new tools are powered through rechargeable batteries. The purchase of the equipment was approved by Weirton Council in October. Pictured with some of the equipment are, from left, Ward 5 Councilwoman Flora Perrone, Ward 1 Councilman Tim Connell, Fire Chief Kevin Himmelrick, and Ward 6 Councilman Enzo Fracasso.
