Representatives of United Bank, on Thursday, showed the bank's support for the upcoming Christmas Eve dinner takeout event, being organized through the support of the Salvation Army, local churches and organizations and the City of Weirton. Applications for the meals, to be distributed on Christmas Eve, have been made available at the Freedom Place and Overbrook Towers high-rises, as well as various group homes in the city. Applications are due by Dec. 11. In addition, other area residents will have an opportunity for a meal, available from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, on a first-come, first-served basis. — Craig Howell
