Tomlinson Run State Park will host "Chief Logan's Lament," from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, as part of a series of statewide events commemorating the 250th anniversary of Dunmore's War. One of the causes for the war was the massacre of the family of Mingo Chief Logan at Baker's Trading House in Hancock County. This and other causes of the war will be portrayed by living-history interpreters at the park's campground picnic shelter. In addition, beginning at 5 p.m., there will be a West Virginia Humanities Council History Alive! presentation on the life of Thomas Ingles, who was captured from his home in the Virginia frontier by a Shawnee war party, adopted and raised by the Shawnee, eventually returning to his family in Virginia and then later going to war against the Shawnee. — Contributed
