Water outage scheduled
WEIRTON -- The Weirton Area Water Board has scheduled a water outage beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday for several areas of Marland Heights as part of the installation of a new water main.
The affected areas are Beaumont Drive, Euclid Avenue, Lindberg Way, Collins Way, 3600-3800 blocks of Woodlawn Way, Marlamont Way, Marland Heights Road, Marion Drive, Rothrock Avenue, Riverview Drive, Morris Avenue, Elwood Lane, Williams Drive, Beechwood Drive, and 3500-3800 blocks of Brightway Street.
After the work is completed, a boil order will be issued for the entirety of Marland Heights.
Weirton Council sets work session
WEIRTON -- Weirton Council has scheduled a work session for 6:30 p.m., Monday, in Room 201 of the Weirton Municipal Building.
The agenda includes a discussion for the chief code official position, to include a job description and salary.
Hancock school board to meet
NEW CUMBERLAND -- The Hancock County Board of Education will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m., Monday at the John D. Rockefeller IV Career Center.
The meeting will include recognition of the 2023 teacher of the year and service personnel of the year nominees.
Lane restrictions set for U.S. 22
WEIRTON -- The West Virginia Division of Highways has announced intermittent lane restrictions will be in place Monday through Friday on U.S. 22 from Three Springs Drive to the Pennsylvania state line.
The restrictions will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily, as part of a planned sign revitalization project. Motorists are advised to slow down and expect delays.
