WEIRTON – Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide incident in the city.

According to information provided by Weirton Police Chief Charlie Kush, officers were dispatched to 249 Miami Ave. at approximately 12:20 a.m. today in reference to reports of a shooting within the home.

Upon entering the house, officers discovered two deceased females, both with gunshot wounds identified. A third female was transported to the hospital by ambulance, also with gunshot wounds.

The suspect also was found deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The investigation is ongoing by Weirton Police, which has been assisted by the West Virginia State Police, Hanock County Sheriff’s Department, Weirton Fire Department and Hancock County Ambulance.
