Roundabout will be closed

STEUBENVILLE — Pavement markings that are part of the Lovers Lane widening project will be placed between Sunset Boulevard and Preston Road, including the roundabout and Fort Steuben Drive, beginning Monday, the city’s engineering department said.

The work will cause the roundabout to be closed to all traffic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Motorists are advised to use the posted detour of Sinclair Avenue to John Scott Highway to Sunset Boulevard.

Property owners who live in the project limits of Lovers Lane will need to use Sunset Boulevard to access Lovers Lane. Motorists are advised to slow down, exercise caution and be alert while traveling through the construction area, and to expect delays lasting between 10 minutes and 15 minutes.

All work will be done weather-permitting. The project is expected to be completed near the end of the month.

County Road 26 to be closed

WINTERSVILLE — Jefferson County Road 26 (Fernwood-Bloomingdale Road) will be closed to all traffic 0.5 miles south of county Road 34 for two weeks beginning Monday, according to the Jefferson County Engineer’s Office.

The closure is needed to allow crews to perform a slip repair.

Special board meeting set

NEW CUMBERLAND — The Hancock County Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting to hold a student disciplinary hearing.

The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, at Weir Middle School.
