Living United
Members of the Rotary Club of Weirton Heights, during their Dec. 3 meeting, welcomed Executive Director Staci Stephen and Development Coordinator Jane Dombroski of the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley, who spoke about various programs the organization offers the community. Those programs include “211” which connects residents with a local outreach coordinator to provide aid with utility bills, mortgage payments, mental health assistance and other services, as well as the Backpack Program which provides healthy, easy to prepare food items for children to take home on weekends or during school breaks. The United Way provides funding for more than 30 programs and organizations in the area, and is planning several fundraisers to help reach its $800,000 goal. It has a satellite office within the Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau, 243 Three Springs Drive, Suite 17. Pictured, from left, are Salvation Army Maj.
