WEIRTON - The Weirton Area Water Board has extended the mandatory conservation order throughout the city as crews continue their efforts to restore water levels within its storage and distribution system.
According to a notice issued by the board this morning, the conservation order will now continue through to March 14.
"It is our hope that water tank storage levels will be re-established, allowing for the discontinuation of the mandatory conservation order by this date," states the notice.
Additional updates will be provided whenever necessary.
The Water Board initially issued the conservation order Dec. 18, following dozens of line breaks in the distribution system.
