JVS open house set for Wednesday
BLOOMINGDALE — The Jefferson County Joint Vocational School is welcoming incoming students and their families for an early look at their new surroundings during the annual open house on Wednesday.
More than 300 juniors are anticipated to join the JVS this fall and participants can explore the facilities as well as meet staff and instructors at the event from 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Supervisor/Principal Andy Long said those who attend will be able to view the 16 program labs as well as academic classrooms to familiarize themselves with the building.
Guidance counselor Shelly Henderson commented that interest was also increasing in College Credit Plus, which provides students with associate degrees in addition to their high school diploma and saves on costs for higher education. Currently, more than 20 students are in the program and information will be available during the open house.
