Weirton firefighters to help WVU Children’s Hospital

WEIRTON — Weirton firefighters will be asking residents to assist them in filling the helmet.

Members of Weirton Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local 948, which represents the firefighters in the Weirton Fire Department, have organized a fundraiser to benefit WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Local 948 members will host a Fill the Helmet fund drive. All proceeds will go directly to WVU Children’s, according to organizers.

Collection sites will be established at the intersection of Three Springs Drive and Park Drive, in front of Bob Evan’s Restaurant; and the Plaza parking lot near Shop N Save.
