While Thursday’s weather definitely said summer, the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce tried to bring in some early holiday spirit with its annual Christmas in July Golf Scramble. Nineteen teams hit the fairways at Mountaineer’s Woodview Golf Course, with proceeds from the event set to benefit chamber programs. Food for the event was catered by Giometti Catering, with additional refreshments made possible by Rowing’s Italian Ice and the Laurels. — Craig Howell
