The Next, a local rock band, took to Wellsburg’s Central Park stage on Monday, continuing a string of free concerts there that are part of the Wellsburg Independence Day celebration. The will continue with Pocket Change at 7 p.m. today, the 76 All-Stars at 7 p.m. Wednesday and a double bill featuring Switch and the Jason Ray Welsh Band at 6 p.m. Thursday. The city’s Independence Day parade will start at 7 p.m. Friday on Charles Street. — Warren Scott
