Capito announces Fall 2025 Academy Days

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito will host four Academy Days this month for West Virginia students interested to learn about opportunities at the U.S. service academies, as well as available Reserve Officer’s Training Corps scholarships.

“I encourage all West Virginia students, parents, and educators interested in learning more about this incredible opportunity to attend one of my Academy Days throughout September. Doing so will provide them, and their families, with a better understanding of what it means to attend the U.S. Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, Military/West Point, and Naval Academies, or obtain an ROTC scholarship,” Capito, R-W.Va., said.

Remaining scheduled events include:

Sept. 27, Jefferson High School, 4141 Flowing Springs Road, Shenandoah Junction

Sept. 28, University High School, 131 Bakers Ridge Road, Morgantown.

All events are planned for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

During the events, various service academy admissions representatives and local ROTC scholarship program representatives will be available to answer questions and members of Capito’s staff will provide information regarding her academy nomination application process.

The Department of Defense’s Medical Examination Review Board will present on Sept. 27 and Sept. 28.

An appointment to a U.S. Service Academy is a fully funded education opportunity valued from $240,000 to more than $400,000.
