County Road 29 closure extended

MINGO JUNCTION — The closure along Jefferson County Road 29 (McLister Road) has been extended, according to the Jefferson County Engineer’s Office.

The closure, to allow for spot paving, will now run through 4 p.m. Wednesday.

City sets Columbus Day schedule

STEUBENVILLE — The city’s Sanitation Department will be closed Monday in observance of the Columbus Day holiday.

No garbage collection will occur on Monday. Garbage collection for the remainder of the week will occur one day later than usual.

Road work to affect traffic

WELLSBURG — Drivers on Lazear-Wilhelm Road (Brooke County Route 28/4) should prepare for delays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday while crews perform maintenance.

Traffic will be maintained by flaggers, but drivers should approach the road with caution. Inclement weather could change the project schedule.

Special meeting in Indian Creek

WINTERSVILLE — The Indian Creek Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 7 a.m. Oct. 14 to act on the treasurer’s recommendation that it approve the forecast of appropriations, revenue and fund balance assumption.

The meeting will be held in the board office, 100 Park Drive.

Road closure set near Bergholz

BERGHOLZ — A four-mile stretch of state Route 164 will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from Monday through Oct. 31 while crews perform tree trimming, the Ohio Department of Transportation has announced.

The closure is located two miles north of Bergholz, between county Road 52 and Orlon Road, and from Otter Road to township Road 54.

Traffic will be detoured on state Route 43 north to state Route 39 east; state Route 39 east to state Route 524 south; and state Route 524 south back to state Route 164, and reverse.
