The Weirton Police Department, city officials, family and friends gathered Monday to celebrate the promotion of two of the city’s law enforcement officers. Randy Kernen has been elevated to the rank of lieutenant, while Jeff Miller now holds the rank of sergeant. Kernen first joined the Weirton Police Department in November 2011, becoming a sergeant in March 2019, with Miller joining in February 2008.
