Challenge issued
The kettle campaign is officially underway for the Salvation Army in Brooke and Hancock counties, and, with it, is coming some friendly competition. The Hancock and Brooke Young Professionals organization has issued a challenge to local civic groups, including Rotary, Lions and Kiwanis clubs, to see which group can raise the most money for the campaign. In addition, the city of Weirton and Mayor Dean Harris have issued a fundraising challenge to Follansbee and Mayor Scott McMahon. Those wishing to help with either competition can contact the Salvation Army at (304) 748-3410 and ask for Maj. Tonya Roberts.
