As part of the Nov. 10 meeting of Weirton Council, city officials recognized members of the Weirton Trash Squad, in observance of Extra Mile Day, recognizing those who take additional efforts to make their community a better place. Among those presented with proclamations by Mayor Dean Harris were, Mallory Hout, Ty Looman, Eric Maher, Jamie Fenske, and Hollie Babik, who have been dedicating their time to travel through the city’s roadways and picking up garbage. — Craig Howell
