Weirton man faces charges related to vehicle vandalism

WEIRTON – A Weirton man is facing a series of charges after police received a report of vehicle tires being slashed in one city neighborhood.
According to Chief Charlie Kush, officers with the Weirton Police Department responded to a call in to the 1200 block of Swearingen Road at approximately 6 a.m. today. They returned an hour later for a report of Raul Manuel Pedroza II, 38, of 1213 Swearingen Road, allegedly vandalizing more vehicles and slashing tires.
Pedroza was confronted by officers and reportedly ran and entered a neighboring residence without the owner’s knowledge or permission.
Kush reported officers forced their way into the residence, taking Pedroza into custody in the living room area of the residence.
A knife was recovered at the scene.
He has been charged with felony destruction of property and house burglary, and is currently being held in the West Virginia Northern Regional Jail.
