WorkForce West Virginia announces January 7 Statewide Virtual Job Fair

CHARLESTON — WorkForce West Virginia will host its next statewide virtual job fair Jan. 7, welcoming employers and job seekers to participate.

“We invite you to unlock your potential at WorkForce West Virginia’s Statewide Virtual Job Fairs,” said Scott Adkins, Acting Commissioner of WorkForce West Virginia. “Employers and job seekers are encouraged to seize this opportunity to connect and grow together. Since these Statewide Virtual Job Fairs began three years ago, the Virtual Job Fair has had 32,668 registered job seekers, 4,743 registered employers and 17,999 available job openings.”

In December, the Virtual Job Fair had 844 registered job seekers, 98 registered employers and 716 available job openings.

The January virtual job fair will take place from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration is required to participate and can be done online through workforcewv.org.

When attending the event, job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally and have a calm, clutter-free background. The job fair portal features a job seeker training video, a list of participating employers and channels for attendees to register and log in.

After registering for the first time, new employers will create a “Virtual Booth” to connect with job seekers. After completion, this booth will be available during subsequent job fairs.
