WEIRTON – The Weirton Area Water Board has issued a boil notice for the 200 block of Fernwood Avenue, as well as any other nearby customers who lost water pressure.

The order follows repairs to a line on Fernwood Drive earlier today.

If you live in the affected area, bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. Disinfection will be verified as soon as possible and the boil water notice will be lifted through local media notification.
