WEIRTON – A boil order has been issued for the downtown area of Weirton following repairs to a water line on Walnut Street.

The Weirton Area Water Board issued the boil order at 2:37 p.m. today.

If you live in the affected areas listed above bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. Disinfection will be verified as soon as possible, and the boil water notice will be lifted through local media notification.
